Now that Remembrance Day is over, Sainsubury’s has embarked on a poppy recycling scheme.
You can go to both Odd Down and Green Park Sainsbury’s stores between the 12th and 24th November to recycle your poppies.
A poppy recycling box will be available at the Customer Service Desk in both stores.
Following the fundraising success of The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, customers can now go the extra mile and team up with their local Sainsbury’s.
All recycled poppies will go back to Poppyscotland to enable them to either re-use or recycle them or raise further funds.
Sainsbury’s independently launched this scheme in 2013 and continue to be the only supermarket that offer this organisation.
The percentage increase in poppies recycled from 2013 and 2014 is 400%.
Sainsbury’s have collected so many recycled poppies over the past few years that if you laid them all out it would be the equivalent height of nearly 12 Shard buildings and they wish to improve this with the years to come.
Along with the success of our own campaign, ‘Become a poppy seller’, it seems as though the poppy appeal has been better than ever for Bath this year.
